Prevalence of (A) self-reported diabetes mellitus by age and (B) self-reported risk factors observed in patients with diabetes mellitus. Data grouped by chronic kidney disease stages determined as follows: stage 1, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of 90 mL/min/1.73 m2 or greater and albumin-creatinine ratio (ACR) of 30 mg/g or greater; stage 2, eGFR of 60 to 89 mL/min/1.73 m2 and ACR of 30 mg/g or greater; stage 3, eGFR of 30 to 59 mL/min/1.73 m2; stage 4, eGFR of 15 to 29 mL/min/1.73 m2; and stage 5, eGFR less than 15 mL/min/1.73 m2. To convert eGFR from mL/min/1.73 m2 to mL/s/1.73 m2, multiply by 0.01667.

Adjusted odds ratios by chronic kidney disease stage for self-reported nondiabetic Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP) participants of having increased fasting blood glucose levels of 127 mg/dL orAdjusted odds ratios by chronic kidney disease stage for self-reported nondiabetic Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP) participants of having increased fasting blood glucose levels of 127 mg/dL or greater or nonfasting levels of 140 mg/dL or greater. Chronic kidney disease stages determined as described in Fig 1. To convert blood glucose from mg/dL to mmol/L, multiply by 0.0555.
