CKD in the United States: Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP) and National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 1999-2004

Participants detected with chronic kidney disease by stage in Kidney Early Evaluation Program (KEEP) and National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Chronic kidney disease stages were defined as follows: stage 1, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) greater than 90 mL/min/1.73 m² and albumin-creatinine ratio (ACR) of 30 mg/g or greater; stage 2, eGFR of 60 to 89 mL/min/1.73 m² and ACR of 30 mg/g or greater; stage 3, eGFR of 30 to 59 mL/min/1.73 m²; stage 4, eGFR of 15 to 29 mL/min/1.73 m²; and stage 5, eGFR less than 15 mL/min/1.73 m². To convert eGFR from mL/min/1.73 m² to mL/s/1.73 m², multiply by 0.01667.
