2008 Bernd Tersteegen Award 

The Association of German Nephrology Centers of the Deutsche Dialysegesellschaft niedergelasener Ärztee (DDnÄ; German Society of Nephrologists in Private Practice) invites all nephrologists specializing in treating renal insufficiency and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) to apply for the 2008 Bernd Tersteegen Award. The €8,000 award, which is sponsored by Roche Pharma AG, is granted to those whose clinical research best illustrates Tersteegen's dedication to advancing the treatment of chronic renal insufficiency and improving outpatient treatment modalities in ESRD.

Physicians, researchers, or engineers who are involved in research in the area of renal failure and renal replacement therapy may apply. Only research papers that have been published in 2007 or 2008 or have not yet been published are suitable for consideration. Papers should be written in German or English. Review articles, dissertations, university habilitation works, and manuscripts already entered in other competitions are not eligible. The written consent of all coauthors and the designation of a corresponding author must accompany the application. An abbreviated curriculum vitae and a list of publications to date should be included. For consideration, five copies of these materials should be sent to the following address by July 15, 2008:

The award will be conferred at the Annual Meeting of the Association of German Nephrology Centers of the DDnÄ on November 22, 2008 in Mannheim, Germany.
